The African Students' Union(ASU) at Miami University is an intricately structured and multifaceted organization with a clear-cut mission: to emerge as the definitive voice of the African continent within our academic institution. ASU's multifaceted mandate encompasses the elevation of cultural awareness, the vibrant celebration of Africa's diverse tapestry, the resolute challenge of ingrained stereotypes, and the provision of an intellectual crucible for informed discourse.
With open arms, ASU welcomes all, regardless of their connection to Miami University, inviting active engagement from both esteemed faculty members and the broader Oxford community. The organization is keenly focused on forging symbiotic relationships with like-minded communities, organizations, and academic initiatives, in the quest to create forums for students, staff, and faculty to participate in enriching cultural events on campus, fostering a sense of belonging and cross-cultural understanding.
